HEADLINE: United World Travel of
Morristown Merges with Knoxville’s World Ventures, Tours &
Travel
Knoxville, Tenn.…. United World Travel,
of Morristown, established in 1978 has merged with World
Ventures, Tours & Travel, Inc., of Knoxville. United World
Travel will remain at its current location at 2412 West Andrew
Johnson Hwy in Morristown. All of the United World Travel’s
staff will remain with World Ventures Travel as they continue to
provide travel services to leisure and corporate clients in the
Morristown and surrounding counties.
There has been a growing number of
consolidations in the travel industry over the past 7 years.
Consolidation of travel agencies has gone from approximately
35,000 agencies in the US in 1995 to a declining 19,000
authorized retail locations at the end of 2006. “This is a
great opportunity for our two companies to join forces and
resources in providing an even better service to our clients
through shared knowledge, experience and technology. Both our
companies bring many years of experience together,” says Tom
Gietema, President of United World Travel.
“We look forward to having United World
Travel’s staff and clients part of our growing company,” says
Constantine Christodoulou, President of World Ventures Travel.
World Ventures Travel is celebrating its 30th anniversary this
year and has been able to grow and expand even with the
continued pressures the travel industry has under gone these
last few years. Mr. Christodoulou, President of World Ventures
Travel, attributes this success to “our focus on customer
service and business planning.”
Travel agents work hard on behalf of the
consumer. The role of a travel agent is to make the process of
going on a trip - whether for work or pleasure - be a stressfree
and memorable experience. Travel agents spend time not only
booking tickets and searching for affordable prices, but also
personalizing their services for individual clients. The
American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) motto “Without a
Travel Agent, You’re On Your Own,” exemplifies the
importance and way professional travel agents view their role in
today’s changing market.
The job of a travel agent has grown and
adapted to reflect the changes within the travel industry, and
to reflect the difference in the way people think about travel.
Travel agents recognize that consumers today have done their
homework and are more knowledgeable about what they want.
Clients who turn to a travel agent desire an in-depth, personal
approach and want the advice and expertise of a professional and
that is what they get at World Ventures Travel.
